Balancing Act: Blogging. Working. Life.

Blogging, working, and life.
How do you balance the three? Well, you prioritize them. In many cases, I wish all three could be at the top of my list, but unfortunately that is not the case. Hence why I’ve been so behind in the blogging world. I love networking and meeting new people. It’s one of the many reasons I wanted to create a blog in the first place. Also, I love photography. I find joy in photographing the people, things and life that I so thoroughly enjoy. That brings me to today’s blog post.

The theme at my school this month is “balance”. Are you balanced? How do you find balance? Can you balance several things without being overwhelmed? Can you be good at all the many areas in your life that you love? It really had me evaluating myself. Am I balanced?

If there’s anyone reading this who knows me personally, you know that I always like to take on many different tasks at once. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. I do know, however, that I’m constantly interested in new things and sometimes I find myself to be a real “go-getter.” As I taught Social Studies this past week, one of the questions in our workbook asked the students, “What were the benefits of staying home or getting out and exploring the new colonies?” As we went over the many pros and cons, I caught myself asking, “What would I have done?” Sure enough, my first thought was I’d go!!!! If it means I get to travel to a new place, meet new people and learn a new culture. I’m down.

As I think of all the things I try to juggle in my life I also realize that when things get real hectic I go back to prioritizing the many things I love and put some on the back burner until I’m ready to accomplish those things. I don’t think it’s such a bad thing to put things to the side until time allows, but I just wish there were more hours in the day to accomplish it all. I really feel like being a balanced person is extremely important and it is a trait I greatly admire. They always say “too much of anything is bad,” right?

Well, I love to vent and writing this post felt good! So I think it’s time I start setting aside more time for a hobby I love.

xoxo,

Stephanie
