Gratitude and Happiness
After finishing today’s yoga class I was left with a new sense of showing my gratitude. My amazing instructor always ends the class with a positive quote to get you thinking and today’s quote did just that.
I decided to look up the exact definition for gratitude.
Gratitude, the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
The importance of being thankful and remembering to embrace that gratitude can be tough. We are so caught up with what’s going on in the world, social media, events, work, family life……. and we forget! I’m ashamed because I too am a victim of this exact problem. The act of being thankful is so easy yet we still seem to forget what we are so thankful for until it’s gone or taken away.
All in all, our instructor told us that every night before going to bed we should acknowledge all that we are grateful for and we will indeed find happiness. Even if it’s been the worst day ever we will find peace in knowing all that we have to be thankful for.
Let’s commit ourselves to gratitude each and every day so we can be the best version of ourself!
